Carey DeVault Carey has worked with the Sounders soccer team, power lifters, Professional Football players and Professional Baseball players. She has a talent for rehabilitating injured athletes and getting them back to their sport. She uses Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy and Sports Massage Therapy to promote proper healing of injured muscles. She has 11 years experience working with spinal injuries pre- and post surgery, professional sports injuries and pregnancy massage. She specializes and enjoys working most with rotator cuff sprains, strains and tears, leg injuries, low back pain and hip pain. Carey has been a massage therapist since 1997. Carey can be heard laughing a hallway away, laughter is a big part of who she is and her young son is the apple of her eye.

Erin Becker Erin has been a massage therapist since 1997. She utilizes Neuromuscular Therapy, Muscle Release Technique and Active Isolated Stretching as her main forms of therapy. She has a high success rate working with postural issues, shoulder pain and low back/hip pain and tension. She specializes in repetitive stress injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, spinal injuries and post surgery rehabilitation. Erin enjoys working with a diverse clientele, but has a soft spot for pregnant women. She is certified in pregnancy massage and is an infant massage instructor. Erin teaches our Baby Massage classes once a quarter and the schools are always trying to steal her away from us!

Rose Mastberg Rose has been a massage therapist since 2002. She is a Reiki Master and fell in love with body work while working with John Barnes at his Myofascial Relief Clinic in Sedona, Arizona. She worked directly with John Barnes for 1 year and during this time developed a passionate competence in herself and in the Myofascial Release Technique (MFR). She utilizes MFR as her primary form of treatment with a combination of Muscle Energy Techniques, as well as Thai Massage to bring about change and relief in the body. She has a very gentle touch when needed, as well as a capability to work very deep. Her training as a yoga instructor furthered her commitment to help others care for their bodies. She believes in the body’s ability to heal and empowering others to learn to take care of themselves. She enjoys working with people who have experienced trauma and helping their bodies to release and heal from the event and enjoys working with children. Our Pediatric doctors refer their young clients to her frequently. Rose’s healing touch and joy of life will make you fall in love with her. But be careful, her energy and joy is contagious!

Tara Jordan Tara has been a massage therapist since 2002. Her previous experience has been working side by side assisting Physical Therapists helping to aid in the rehabilitation of clients with many different ailments. Tara enjoys tailoring each massage toward individual needs and goals of her clients by using multiple modalities to get the best results possible. She has a natural talent for using deep tissue massage to break adhesions while also employing neuromuscular re-education, muscle energy technique and trigger point therapy to relax hyper-toned muscles, decrease pain and increase range of motion. Her practice also fosters an increase in body awareness, client education and self empowerment to directly influence personal health. Tara strives to discover the source of imbalance, pain or discomfort while addressing symptoms of her clients. Tara is constantly tempting the other therapists with chocolate covered almonds and is responsible for alleviating many sugar cravings.

Beth Hooper Beth graduated from Clover Park Technical College in 2005 and is drawn to neck and back work. She is a skilled Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage practitioner with 5 years experience working with Physical Therapists and Chiropractors. She enjoys working with diverse injuries and medical conditions. Whenever we have a client that prefers “really deep work” we think of Beth. Her philosophy is to relax the client enough to allow her to gain access to the deeper tissues. She believes releasing deep muscle tension and breaking up adhesions can change old patterns and create new opportunities to heal. Beth believes that stress relief and laughter can cure almost any ill. She has a background in Psychology and resists Tara’s chocolate covered almonds without a problem.

Jackie Kwok Jackie has been a massage therapist since 2005. She graduated from Ashmead College and is NCBTMB certified as a professional LMP with special certifications in Thai massage and aromatherapy. She specializes in Deep Tissue Massage with an emphasis on neck pain, back pain and sports massage. She also enjoys full body relaxation massage, Thai massage and utilizes several massage modalities to facilitate healing and change within the body. Jackie enjoys reducing headaches, decreasing swelling with lymphatic drainage techniques, decreasing adhesions with deep tissue work and working with postural issues. Jackie believes in not just doing what is right but also what makes you happy. She is an expert seamstress and talented therapist.

Katie Williams Katie received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from Western Washington University with a major in Exercise and Sports Science/Pre-Physical Therapy. After graduating Katie gained experience working as a Physical Therapy Aide and Personal Trainer. These experiences inspired her to learn more about massage therapy. Katie graduated from Bellevue Massage School in 2008. She is excited to be a part of the Lake Washington Massage Therapy family, and has found her past physical therapy experience and training to be a great asset to her massage therapy practice. She enjoys working with people to help rehabilitate sports injuries as well as other injuries, utilizing a wide range of techniques depending on the person and injury. Katie believes hands on care combined with exercise are important to the healing process. She also spends time before of after hours as our clinic Personal Trainer. | Brian Johnson Brian graduated from Seattle Massage School in 1994. His treatment focus has been primarily injury treatment work, sports related trauma and post surgical rehab. He particularly enjoys focusing on neck, shoulders, low back and lower leg work. Brian is returning to school in the fall/winter to become a nationally certified personal trainer and has extensive knowledge in exercise and diet. In Brian’s down time he likes to run and hang out with family and friends. He is also active in participating in American Cancer society events. |
